Being responsible for the society

Since the beginning, KSIPL leaders have abided by the philosophy - ‘Company grows, everyone grows’. KSIPL strongly believes in the philosophy of ‘vasudhev kutumbakam’ - the whole world is one family. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is seen as an essential part as the organization undertakes various activities such as contribution in “Kanya Keravani” along with other initiatives to promote child education.
For betterment of all stakeholders, various other activities are also organized, such as:
Health-Safety-Environment
at KSIPL

At KSIPL, the Health, Safety and the overall Environment hold prime importance.
Various initiatives and processes are in place to ensure the well-being of all the employees.
Health
Our Health & Well-being Initiative makes our employees happier at work while promoting higher productivity as well.
Our leaders sincerely believe in the motto, “Good Health is Good Business”.
Apart from the regular activities, we have well defined policies in place, such as:
Group Health Insurance Policy
Personal Accidental Insurance Policy
Regular Health Camps and Medical Check-ups
Frequent Fitness Sessions – Yoga, Zumba, Cardio, Aerobics etc.
Outdoor Sports
Every week, Fitness Sessions are organized with different forms of workout. We propagate the mantra of – “EMPLOYEES THAT WORKOUT TOGETHER, WORK WELL TOGETHER”.
Safety
Working in this industry is inherently hazardous. Risks such as working with moving vehicles and equipment, lifting of heavy construction materials, and working at heights makes maintaining safety a major challenge.
We believe that committed leadership and an uncompromising emphasis on hazard identification, risk assessment and risk management provides the cornerstone for health and safety. This is expressed and encouraged through our Policies, our Health and Safety expectations, and the Group’s Health and Safety culture.
Health and Safety hazards are identified and the risk eliminated as a first priority and, wherever not possible, minimized so far as is reasonably practicable via the highest order of control/s possible.
In construction, the critical risk areas we are focusing on to create safer and healthier workplaces are:
Working at heights and falling objects
Lifting operations
Working with utilities and live services
Mobile plant interaction and live traffic
Working with temporary structures
Each of our Operating Project Sites is required to: develop and implement management systems and practices to manage safe, sustainable and efficient operations, reflecting their unique operating environments. Any change with health and safety implications is identified and the health and safety risks managed through an effective change management process.
The next phase of creating workplaces free from fatalities and serious injuries is to maintain the focus on managing critical risks and establish a culture of ownership of safety. We are undertaking a cultural change transformation to drive greater ownership of safety accountability at all levels.
Our Employee Mr. Tila Sahoo working at KSIPL Sundergarh Project received Safety Award from our Client NTPC, Darlipali.
Environment
KSIPL is committed to conduct all its business both on site and in its offices with a responsible consideration for the impact it will have on the environment.
We believe that making a positive contribution to society by protecting the environment will give us a strong foundation as a company. KSIPL doesn’t just abide by laws and regulations but makes considerable efforts to manage all aspects of environmental policy as a fundamental part of all company business and planning. We actively encourage a strong sense of awareness and responsibility towards the environment among employees and we expect our sub-contractors to comply fully with all environmental guidelines. We fully assess the impact our projects will have on the surrounding areas. By creating good conditions for communication on site as well as in the office, we take all precautions to prevent environmental accidents. KSIPL will continue to conduct its business in a way that will allow it to find a balance between its social, environmental and economic responsibilities.
Managing our environmental footprint and the impact to our operations presents both challenges and opportunities that affect our ability to bid for and deliver work. Our key environmental objective is to avoid causing any environmental degradation which has high severity impacts, or may have irreversible detrimental long term impacts, and appropriately manage all other risks to the environment across the Group's operations. By effectively managing our environmental footprint and environmental impacts to our operations, we stand to gain a competitive advantage by working as a more risk aware, innovative and efficient business. With our clients and key stakeholders, we recognize that by:
- preventing and mitigating pollution and degradation, and anticipating and adapting to climate impacts, we avoid potential operational delays, remediation costs, fines and legal fees, and enhance our relationships with the communities and markets in which we operate;
- delivering on specifications and standards set by regulators, clients and other stakeholders, we stand to gain the confidence of the markets and communities in which we operate, and avoid potential litigation and increased insurance premiums; and
- anticipating and adapting to natural resource constraints, we optimize our production and operational capacities, and prevent unforeseen and unmanaged increases in operational costs, taxes and carbon permit liabilities.
Our interactions with the environment can affect the health, well‐being and prosperity of communities where we operate. These communities and other key stakeholders expect us to, wherever possible, prevent or otherwise mitigate and remediate any harmful effects from our operations. To achieve this outcome requires us to identify potential environmental hazards and risks, and to develop and implement adequate controls to eliminate or mitigate the effects of these hazards and risks should they result. By adopting a comprehensive, systematic and collective approach to hazard and risk management, and continuously monitoring and improving our performance, we ensure we remain competitive in the markets in which we operate.
